I recently came across some old photos I had of a mural that Hermano and i did last year.  The mural was painted with Montana Gold spray paint.  The birds were cut out of wood then drilled into the slat wall using spacers so they would pop off the exterior at varied depths.  The mural is on the side of BonAir Market on 26th and J street. My good friend Nate Wragg and myself have decided to begin work on a new project. The overall theme is music. We plan to do a series of individual work along with some colabos. We’re shooting for next Summer sometime for a show date. I’ll be posting some teasers as we go.

I drew a an old friend last week in white charcoal and really liked how it turned out. Below i’ve posted a couple pictures of the drawing along with a picture of Freddy and me.

I was approached by writer Josh Fernandez from the Sacramento News & Review to do a story on my art. I happily excepted and he came by the studio last week to chat and take photos. If you wanna check out the article i posted a link down below.

SN&R Interview

I’ll have a piece in this year’s Circus Show on September 13th at the Verge Gallery. The theme for the show is exposing cruelty to animals in the circus. Not exactly something you’d see my art in but, when artist/currator Gale Hart approached me months ago and asked if i’d put something in, i just couldn’t say no. Below is the piece i did for the show along with the link to the website.

The Circus Show & Other Atrocities

A lot of folks have been asking when i’ll be showing again… well the time has come. I’ll have work showing at 111 Minna Gallery on Thursday Januray 3rd 2008. I’m looking forward to it and i hope to see you there. The vibe should be cool and i’ll be showing with some good friends of mine. Welcome to the new site! All my new art and photography will be uploaded soon, so please check back for updates. Currently my old work is posted but the new stuff is on the way!
