Mural at University Art

I recently completed a mural inside University Art in Sacramento.  The mural consisted of three characters; Nina Simone, Miles Davis and Grant Green.  I painted the characters along with some added design and color on the entrance wall to the East.  All the characters were painted using Montana Gold spray paint.   For the background i took a bunch of sheet music and tore it into small pieces.  I then layered it on piece by piece creating the flow of music out of the horn.  Below is a stitched image of two photos i took.  Goto the Murals page to see more photos.  I also added a few links below for the characters in the mural.

“Vans Gogh” custom vans

I recently had the opportunity to do a pair of limited edition custom Vans for the Grouch. Doing research and putting ideas together for the different panels, heels, and tongues was fun but challenging at the same time. I ended up lacing both inside and outside panels with torn up sheet music, then using a glaze to reflect green. On the heels of both shoes i put my logo, and for the tongues i decided to do a portrait of his daughter and wife. Scribed on the inside of the left tongue is “Motivation is key” and on the right tongue “Innovation is my A R T”. Signed them and that was that. The Grouch and i met up when he was in town on his latest tour “How the Grouch stole Christmas”. I gave him the shoes and he seemed pleased. We took pictures and video of the shoes and i’ll post those as soon as i get them. Till then i posted a photo breakdown of the shoes so you can see them.  I’ve also added some links for the Grouch below the shoe pics.

BonAir Mural

I recently came across some old photos I had of a mural that Hermano and i did last year.  The mural was painted with Montana Gold spray paint.  The birds were cut out of wood then drilled into the slat wall using spacers so they would pop off the exterior at varied depths.  The mural is on the side of BonAir Market on 26th and J street. Below is a photo I took. Goto the Murals page for more photos

The Circus Show

I’ll have a piece in this year’s Circus Show on September 13th at the Verge Gallery. The theme for the show is exposing cruelty to animals in the circus. Not exactly something you’d see my art in but, when artist/currator Gale Hart approached me months ago and asked if i’d put something in, i just couldn’t say no. Below is the piece i did for the show along with the link to the website.

Gold Chain Music Tour pt. 2

I linked up with my boy Asia for another project. He’s going on tour again, this time he’s gonna be accompanied by Slick Rick and others. As soon as i get the full list of artists on the tour i’ll edit the post. But anyhow, he wanted the tour logo redesigned along with some shirts and various other things. This was the first design i a came up with. Still working on more and i’ll post those when they’re finished. But for now, here’s all i have…

Color Added To Blank Pages EP

Earlier this year I met some hip-hop kats from Iceland. Rain is a dope Emcee who has a serious passion for music and it shows in his rhymes. Troopa is the Producer… and that kat is no joke. His beats have you stuck for days! Trust me, I had his single “Peaceful Thinking” on repeat for months. Anyway, I really liked there sound and they liked my work, so we decided to team up and make an EP. As soon as they release the album I’ll add a link so you can snatch it up. Below is a breakdown of the cover and poster i designed for the album.
